Our Mentors and Mentees were highly complimentary about joining the mentoring programme and energised by their experience. Here's what they have to say:
'I have found my Mentee to be very motivated once we had discussed and agreed on her goal for the programme. The amount of research done in support of her goal was quite impressive and showed the energy and drive that she possesses. I play the role of a sounding board and share my experiences which are relevant, and remind and nudge her just a little. Protégé as a whole has been well-designed and thought through, starting with a fun matching process, and includes regular touch points for all participants. These serve as useful sessions to help equip Mentors and Mentees for the programme, also as milestones to track progress and lastly, and perhaps most importantly, as important networking sessions.'
Shirley Low, Head Government Affairs, Singapore Management University
'The Protégé mentoring programme is a comprehensive, supported experience for both Mentors and Mentees, and the best I have been involved with. For the Mentors, there were many opportunities to share insights with other Mentors, receive coaching and learning about mentoring styles, and help to navigate conversations with Mentees in a confidential way. I can see my Mentee has benefited from the Protégé programme, gaining new ideas and approaches which help her navigate her goals, and receiving feedback and coaching along the way. I highly recommend this programme for all women who want to achieve more out of life and work.'
Robyn Dittrich, Sales Director SE Asia ANZ, BP
'The journey to become a leader is one of self discovery and empowerment. Protégé provides a strong foundation by equipping me with the necessary skills and an inspiring mentor who can provide advice based on real life experience. The journey is much more enjoyable and enriching when shared with a group of like minded, driven individuals who are there to support you on this exciting journey. Thank you Protégé.'
Shalin Ho, Regional Reward Manager, NBCUniversal
'There are 3 parts to the Protégé secret sauce: a generous measure of experience in mentee and mentor matching; a thought provoking structure of training materials and sessions that question ingrained preconceptions; and a blend of participants who are all dedicated in being the drivers for change. Any one of these ingredients are reason enough in themselves to support and participate in Protégé. However, what really stands out for me is that this recipe is sealed with a dose of strong leadership and passion that fosters a collegiate atmosphere for knowledge sharing and relationship building that is rare. I have benefited much from being a mentee on this programme, especially in helping me solidify my direction and priorities, and I can’t recommend this programme enough.'
Michelle Chong, Sanctions Advisor, Standard Chartered Bank
"Protégé is a unique programme in Singapore. I was fortunate to participate and work with a master mentor who coached and challenged me to discover my “inner game”.
Working in a management role can be an isolating experience and exposure to the Protégé network has opened up a new vision for my personal and corporate development. It challenged me to discover new ways of developing my skills and thinking “outside the box”. The programme gave me practical and valuable experience in the skills they don’t teach at business school. My belief in the power of personal networks and influencing skills was clearly reinforced in my experience throughout the programme. I was introduced to a broad range of influential corporate leaders who gave me insightful personal and corporate feedback, which will be invaluable in my ongoing development.
I would highly recommend this programme to anyone who needs to develop professional skills and contribute to a leadership position in their organisation."
